What is a CMS?

A CMS or also known as a Content Management System as described by Wikipedia as

A collection of procedures used to manage work flow in a collaborative environment.

With the way most business work these days, if you do not have a presense on the web then you could miss out on that big sale.

But what most people know as a CMS is the web content management (WCM) system. This is a CMS designed to to make the world wide web easier and not as scary for people who do not know all the technical fluff like programming or computer servers and much much more.

Now these days it is easier to show yourself and your business online using a CMS where you can simply controll the content, look and feel of your business quickly.

What you can do with a CMS is easily upload and display  for example

  • pictures
  • videos
  • audio
  • and much more

This also gives you an ability to sell online and interact with your customers by getting feedback quickly and use this info to improve business but most of all you have complete control of your website.

The other added bonus with a CMS is that you can update your website when you want and how you want, from anywhere by using the WYSIWYG editor (What You See Is What You Get) which simply put is a text editor on steroids where you can add more pages, a blog or something else you might want on your website without needing to know how to do the programming.
